Guided Surf Coast Nature Walks

The Summer House team have put together some amazing guided walks for our groups to explore!

All 5 walks take in the beauty and scenery of the Surf Coast and its amazing coastline, from Torquay , Jan Juc, Bell Beach to the incredible Marine National Park of Point Addis Beach.

With spectacular scenery and wide sandy beaches, amazing limestone and sandstone cliffs, rocky platforms and small rocky reefs. The coastline is exposed to intense wave action from the southern ocean which shapes this rugged coastline.

Our Guide will start each of these walks with An Acknowledgment of Country and paying respect to our Traditional Custodians the Wathaurong people, their cultural heritage, can be deeply felt throughout these nature walks and we would love pass on a little of this history to give you a connection to this beautiful ancestral lands and waters.

Surf Coast Walks

Walk One

Southside /Ironbark Basin / Addiscott Beach loop.

Cliffs, lookouts, bush, beach walk.
  • Distance: 10.5KM
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Difficulty: Moderate - Hard
  • Add half hour for Point Addis lookout (1.5km)
  • Add half hour for Bells Beach carpark start (1.5km)

Walk Two

Bird Rock to Bells return

Cliffs, lookouts. Optional stop at Swell for best coffee in Torquay.
  • Distance: 6.5KM
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Difficulty: Easy - Moderate
  • Add half hour for descent and walk on to Bells Beach.
  • Add 15 min for detour to steps lookout.
  • Add 45 min for Southside lookout.

Walk Three

Bells Beach Top Car park to Rocky Point return

Cliffs and beach walk with lookouts.Optional stop at Swell for best coffee in Torquay.
  • Distance: 8KM Return
  • Duration: 2.5 hours
  • Difficulty: Easy - Moderate
  • Add 15 min for detour to steps lookout.

Walk Four

Ironbark Basin car park to Addiscott Beach return.

Bush, beach and cliff walk with lookouts.
  • Distance: 7KM Return
  • Duration: 2.5 hours
  • Difficulty: Moderate - Hard
  • Add half hour for Point Addis lookout.
  • Add half hour for beach stroll.
  • Add half hour for start at Grass tree car park.

Walk Five

Bird Rock to Growlers return

Cliff and beach walk with lookouts.
  • Distance: 7.5KM
  • Duration: 2.5 hours
  • Difficulty: Easy for all walkers
  • Optional coffee stop at Growlers.

Shorter Walks

Bird Rock to Rocky Point return.

Bird Rock to Bells top carp park return.

Point Danger to Fisherman’s Beach return.

All with optional coffee stops.
  • Duration: 1 - 1.5 hours

All walks include: our guide, back packs, pick up and drop off for up to 10 guests - are costed at $395
